Kompetensi Pedagogik Guru

Pedagogical competence is one of important competencies to the teachers. Therefore, this study aims to determine how the pedagogical competence of teachers is, viewed from the aspects of learning know­ledge skills, preparation of lesson plans, and learning in the classroom. This study used the quantitative method with 631 respondents of civil servant teachers of Islamic Education at school and teachers of ge­neral subjects at madrasah (Islamic school) recruited from non-permanent teachers in 20 districts/cities in Central Java province, selected at random. The findings show that teachers' pedagogical competence knowledge on the aspect of learning knowledge skills is in the “poor” category, the aspect of students' potential development knowledge and reflective efforts to improve the learning quality becomes a very weak point at an average value with the “very poor” category. In addition, the aspect of ability to prepare lesson plans is in the “sufficient” category, the teaching material organization and the evaluation aspect are very weak competence aspects, which get “poor”. Meanwhile, the competence of learning implemen­tation aspect is in the “sufficient” category.

Peran dan Fungsi Yayasan dalam Pengelolaan Pendidikan Madrasah

Foundation (Yayasan) has vital roles in improving the education, particularly in Islamic schools (madrasah) which are mostly private schools. This study focused on the foundation roles and functions in improving the quality of education in Islamic schools (madrasah). Research aimed to study the foundation roles of Yayasan Darul Irfan, in Sawangan, Depok in managing its school, particularly in achieving the National Education Standard (Standar Pendidikan Nasional, SNP). This research, which used qualitative approach, also aimed to study the foundation functions, especially the school management organized by the foundation. The informants in this research were the foundation supervisor (Pembina Yayasan) and inspector (Pengawas Yayasan), the foundation board (Pengurus Yayasan), the headmaster, the vice-headmaster, the teachers, and the Head of Administration (Kepala Tata Usaha) of Madrasah Aliyah (MA) Islamiyah (equivalent to Senior High School). Data were analyzed by using qualitative and descriptive methods. Research results found that Yayasan Darul Irfan has shown the education roles in the average level, although it has still not achieved the maximum level. In organizing the education of MA Islamiyah according to eight National Education Standards, the Foundation shows more vital roles in finance management, Human Resources (SDM) management, and infrastructure management. The Foundation management has been carried out, particularly in Human Resources management, management development for the headmaster and head of administration. The Foundation also assisted in solving the issues, either amongst the individuals or the units/foundations. The Foundation has possessed specific mechanism in resolving the conflicts.

Strategi Pendidikan Agama Islam dalam Mewujudkan Lingkungan Sekolah yang Religius di Sman 3 Bandung

Religious education is intended to realize the Indonesian human resources that are faithful and devoted to God the Almighty and have the advantage of noble morality which is a necessity in education and learning. To achieve such a lofty goal, it would require a variety of efforts or learning strategies, one of which is a Islamic Education study (PAI), as an attempt to create a religiousschool environment. The study was conducted at SMAN 3 Bandung, with the aim of describing: 1) Perception of the principal on PAI, 2) perceptions of students about PAI, and 3) Strategies of PAI in creating a religious school environment. The study result shows that the principal holds very positive view on PAI, which is manifested in the form of policy towards the implementation of PAI learning in intra-curricular and extracurricular activities. One of PAI learning strategies adopted is to integrate extracurricular activities (mentoring) and PAI in a program called the MT-PAI (Integrated Mentoring Islamic Education). The activity works well because of the positive student perceptions on PAI that PAI is quite interesting and easy to learn and the material is easy to be practiced in everyday life.
