Abstract

This study aims to determine the Influence of Marketing Expense, Firm Size, and Firm Age to Profitability Company. Independent variable in this research is Marketing Expense (X1), Firm Size (X2), and Firm Age (X3), with the dependent variable Profitability (Y). The type of research used is explanatory research with quantitative approach. This study takes the object of the company in the Indonesian banking industry listing on the IDX period 2011-2015. The number of sample companies after selection by purposive sampling technique is as much as 22 companies. The data analysis used is multiple linear regression analysis using SPSS 21.0. The results of this study showed that the coefficient of determination (Adj R2) of 0.38 which means independent variables affect the dependent variable by 38% and the remaining 62% influenced by other variables outside this study. F test results show that the independent variables Marketing Expense, Firm Size, Firm Age together significant influence on Profitability. T test results show that Marketing Expense variables have no significant influence on profitability. While variable of Firm Size have positive significant influence to profitability. In contrast, Firm Age variables significantly influence profitability but negatively. Keywords: Marketing Expense, Firm Size, Firm Age, Profitability АBSTRАK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh Marketing Expense,Ukuran Perusahaan, dan Umur Perusahaan terhadap Tingkat Profitabilitas Perusahaan. Variabel Independen dalam penelitian ini adalah Marketing Expense (X1), Ukuran Perusahaan (X2), dan Umur Perusahaan (X3), terhadap variabel dependen Profitabilitas (Y). Jenis penelitian yang digunakan yaitu penelitian penjelasan atau explanatory research,dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Penelitian ini mengambil objek Perusahaan pada industri perbankan Indonesia yang listing di BEI periode 2011-2015. Jumlah sampel Perusahaan setelah diseleksi dengan teknik purposive sampling adalah sebanyak 22 Perusahaan. Analisa data yang digunakan adalah analisis regresi linier berganda menggunakan SPSS 21.
