: This studyaims to determine theeffectiveness ofthe application ofproblem-basedlearning modeltoremediatestudentmisconceptionsabout the law ofArchimedesin theeighth grade students ofSMPPGRISekadauDistrict. Thisresearch formsusingPre-Experimental DesigntoformOne-Group Pre-Test Post-Test Design.As many as 29students of classIXparticipatedin this study. Diagnostic testswithmultiple choicereasons, is used todetermine the averagestudentmisconceptions. From the analysis ofthe datathe average percentageof studentsmisconceptionsprior toremediationof82.06% andthe averagepercentageof studentsmisconceptionsafterremediationof65.51%.Thismeans there is achange inthe averagepercentageof16.55% studentmisconceptions. Effectivenessvalues??arerelatively high1.63. Thisproblem-basedlearning modelhas the advantage thatstudents become moreactive, the studentsbecamemore confident inhis opinion. This studycan be used asalternativesfor teachersin implementingremediationto correctstudentmisconceptionsonArchimedes law matter. .
